What types of financial aid does the school offer?

Full-time MBA Program

Full-time MBA students at The Paul Merage School of Business are eligible to receive federal grants which are awarded on the basis of financial need. Students must meet all deadlines for the submission of the FAFSA and any required supplemental documents to be considered for grant funding.

A limited number of fellowships/scholarships are awarded to first-year full-time MBA students. These are awarded generally on the basis of academic excellence and achievement. Most fellowships are determined by the Full-time MBA Admissions Committee. The school also offers the Federal Direct Stafford Loan and Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan in addition to private loan funding.

Executive Degree Programs

Students enrolled in the Fully Employed, Executive or Health Care Executive MBA programs are not eligible for grant funding or fellowship consideration. The majority of our Executive Degree Program students rely on the Federal Direct Stafford Loan, Graduate Plus Loan or private loans to pay their educational expenses.

First-year students who have been awarded a scholarship/fellowship will be notified on their "Letter of Admission." The financial aid office will begin e-mailing all other financial aid award notifications in June. Receipt of your "financial aid award" will be contingent upon your admission date and completion of your financial aid file.

Is my enrollment deposit applied toward my Fall quarter fees?

Yes, your enrollment deposit will appear as a credit on your Fall quarter ZOT bill.

How do I pay my registration fees?

UC Irvine’s official billing statement, the ZOT Bill, will be e-mailed to you prior to the beginning of each quarter. The ZOT bill will indicate the quarterly tuition, the due date and any financial aid credit(s) which may be applied to your account. Tuition will be paid automatically for students who receive financial aid that covers the full cost of tuition and are enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.

Students who owe a tuition balance can mail their payment to the UCI Cashier's Office http://www.fs.uci.edu/Cashier/CashHome.htm.

OR pay the tuition via electronic check by accessing their ZOT account at https://sbs.adcom.uci.edu.

The Cashier’s Office does not accept credit card payments.

UCI also offers the PACE program for payment of fees. Please note that this is offered to our Full-time MBA students only and not students enrolled in our Executive Degree Programs.

When will I receive my financial aid?

Once fees have been paid, any remaining financial aid will be disbursed on the first day of the quarter. Federal regulations do not allow UC Irvine to disburse the funds prior to the beginning of each quarter. You can request that the funds be mailed to you or electronically deposited to your personal bank account. If you are having trouble meeting your expenses, please contact the Financial Aid Office as early as possible so that we may assist you.

What if I borrow in excess of my tuition? What happens to the extra funds?

You may use funds in excess of your tuition to pay for indirect educational costs (living expenses, books, supplies, etc.).
