Application checklist
Use this checklist to ensure your application is complete and ready for review.
For more detailed application information, please review our paper application.
A completed application for our Doctoral program will include:
- Completed Application Form. (online
application)
- U.S.$60.00 application fee for domestic applicants; U.S. $80 for international applicants. Check or money order accepted for all applicants;
Visa or MasterCard accepted for online applicants.
- Two copies of official transcripts from all colleges and universities. Envelopes
must be sealed and signed by the Registrar across the flap. A minimum 3.0
GPA (or equivalent) for the last two undergraduate years is required.
- Two official degree certificates from each university or college from which
you received a degree (if not a U.S. university), stating that the degree
has been conferred and showing date of conferral.
- Three recommendations signed by the recommender and submitted in sealed
envelopes or submitted online for applicants using the online application.
For those not using the online recommendation system, please use the pre-formatted
Recommendation forms in the application and be sure the recommender's signature
also appears across the flap of the sealed envelope.
- Official score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)
or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
sent directly from the ETS. You are also encouraged to submit an unofficial
GMAT or GRE score copy if it is available. Test scores older than September
2001 are not accepted. A total GMAT score of 700/94% or above is strongly
recommended for a competitive application. A total GRE score of 1300 or above
for only the verbal and quantitative components is strongly recommended for
a competitive application.
- Official score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
sent directly from the ETS. The TOEFL is required for all applicants whose
primary language is not English. Test scores older than September 2004 are
not accepted. A minimum of 600 is required. The TOEFL code for the PhD program
is 4988, department code 02.
- Official score on the TSE, sent directly from the ETS, for students whose
primary language is not English, if you wish to be considered for a financial
support package. A minimum of 50 is required.
- If applicable, download, complete and return the Diversity
Fellowship application form.
- Responses to the self-evaluation essay questions included in the application
- Sample of writing skills (optional)
- Signature of applicant (Honor Pledge)
- Five applicant address labels (for future correspondence)
The completed application form and all supporting documents, except GMAT or
GRE scores, TOEFL and TSE scores, should be mailed in one package to the following
address. Do not send a duplicate copy of your application if
you apply online.

Please note: The Paul Merage School of Business' application for the doctoral
program for Fall 2007 must be submitted. We do not accept the online applications
provided by the Office of Graduate Studies.
For reasons of confidentiality, we will not provide admission decisions via
email or by telephone. You will receive official notification by mail.
